Summer Camp at Happy Valley Children’s Ranch
Step into the excitement of Happy Valley Children’s Ranch 2024 Summer Camp! Engage your child in an enriching outdoor adventure filled with age-appropriate nature and science activities. Our meticulously planned day camp guarantees a harmonious blend of energy and creativity. Your young camper will acquire new skills, form enduring friendships, and carry home a trove of adventure stories.
Preschool Summer Camp (Ages 3 – 6)
Happy Valley Children’s Ranch is excited to offer our 2024 Summer Camp. Have your child join us for an outdoor adventure filled with nature and science activities. Our summer day camp is specifically themed and programmed for campers ages 3-6 to match their energy and apply their creativity. At Happy Valley Children’s Ranch Summer Camp, your camper will develop new skills, make new friends, and bring home countless stories to share with you about their day. A healthy snack including a fruit and veggie will be provided along with water throughout the day. (If you have a student older than 6 please see below for our all new “big” kid summer camp offering).
Campers will enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including pony rides, science experiments, crafts, themed pretend play, and outdoor games. There are also some very special things planned:
- Fun with our Happy Valley Farm Friends! The children will love riding our miniature horses: Aspen, Sky, Trixie, Rocket, Taz, and Orbit. They will also spend time with our farm friends: Daisy and Otis (Goats), Lammy and Marshmallow (Sheep), and Pigger Allan Poe (Pig).
- Science Show – Exploration Universe! This hands-on spellbinding special event introduces children to a world of exciting chemistry and science experiments!
- Water Week! A week filled with playing with water tables, fun water slides, and sprinklers for children to experiment with and enjoy!
- “In-House” Field Trips *New This Year!* – We have a number of “in-house” field trips planned for our campers – where the the field trip comes to Happy Valley. Some of these include visits from the Denver Aquarium, the Butterfly Pavilion, a local break baker, and the Train Museum!
Campers attend camp for 3 hours per day, 2 days per week, choosing between morning and afternoon on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. We offer 2 four week sessions and one six-week session (dates and details are below).

6-Week Session:

- June 10th – July 25th (No camp on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth and no camp from July 1st – July 5th)
- Times:
- Morning: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (WAITLIST ONLY)
- Afternoon: 12:15 PM – 3:15 PM
- 4-Week Session (Individual): $450
- 4-Week Sessions (Both Session 1 and 2): $760 (No longer available due to Session 1 being full)
- 6-Week Session: $600

“Big” Kid Summer Camp (Ages 7-10)
Happy Valley is excited to have a brand new offering in 2024! We will be holding a series of summer camp sessions intended for “big” kids. We apologize for all the changes but based on overwhelming feedback and demand from our families we have made one final change to the schedule to make it match our little kid schedule for families with kiddos in both groups. Please see below.
Campers will enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including animal care, science experiments, and themed crafts/games. Similar to our preschool summer camps, campers will get lots of time with the animals, however, the focus will be more age-appropriate and will include lessons about animal care as well as fun hands-on experiences with the animals like learning how to clean hooves and braid manes.
Aside from spending time and learning about our farm friends, kiddos will be kept busy playing lawn games, completing themed art projects, partaking in scavenger hunts, and interacting with peers. This is also a great opportunity for former Happy Valley students to return to the school but not feel like they are doing “little” kid activities.
Groups will be limited to 6 children so they can get more direct participation in animal care activities.
(Please note that due to the small size of our mini horses – pony rides are not planned for this age group).
Camps will run on the same schedule as our 4-week preschool camps. Therefore campers attend camp for 3 hours per day, 2 days per week, choosing between Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Due to high demand, we added two afternoon camps in Session 1, and one afternoon camp in Session 2. The dates of the camps will be as follows:
- Session 1: June 3rd – June 28th (No camp on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth) (Both mornings (M/W and T/TH) and afternoons on T/Th are currently waitlist only. Limited spots available in Session 1 for M/W Afternoon)
- Session 2: July 8th – August 2nd
